Frequently Asked Questions
How much will my new home cost?
It depends. The size, finishes, location, and site condition all affect the final cost. At Master Builders NW, we work with such a wide variety of home plans it is difficult to quote an accurate “base price” or “average per sq ft” price. We pride ourselves on providing the most accurate quote to our customers to try and eliminate any “surprise” costs and would not want to mislead any of our customers regarding the cost of their new home. Instead we sit with each potential homeowner, plan and design their home to determine the cost of the home. Because we are not a mass production builder, we do not have set base prices for any of our plans.
How long will it take to build my new home?
Again, it depends. Your site location, site condition, home size, finishes, time of year and city/county permitting processes all impact the build schedule. The permitting process alone can take up to six months or more, depending on the location. From the time we start your foundation, it can be from 6-9 months to complete your home depending on your individual plan. Some homes may be finished sooner, some may take longer. Again this is all dependent on your individual home plan, materials and finishes. But rest assured that your Master Builders NW project manager will keep you updated on your build schedule every step of the way.
I want to build a custom home but don't have land. Do you have lots for sale/can you help me find land?
While we do not offer lots for purchase, we can refer you to one of our preferred realtors who will assist you in finding the perfect location for your new home.
Can you help me create a home plan “from scratch” or do I have to choose from a pre-designed plan?
Whichever you prefer. We have a collection of hundreds of plans to choose from that will fit almost any taste and budget. But we are more than happy to help create a home design from scratch. Remember, if you can dream it, we can build it!
